Codex is included in ChatGPT plans and shares usage with ChatGPT Work. Codex with an API key is billed at OpenAI API prices and has no cloud features. Usage limits depend on model and task; Pro plans currently have no five-hour limit. On Oct 29, 2026, OpenAI doubled the Work and Codex allowance on Pro 100 and Pro 500 and canceled the planned Pro 200 cut (Pro 200 users on the lower allowance were doubled to match); Plus is unchanged and OpenAI publishes no fixed numbers. Since Oct 28, 2026, Pro and Business subscribers can claim a monthly OpenAI API credit (Pro: $100, $200 or $500 by tier); it can't be used for Codex with an API key.
