How to use them in a coding tool

Only steps shown in each host's own guide. Keep the API key in an environment variable, not in your code.

OpenCode with IteraCompute

  1. Create an API key in the IteraCompute Console that allows qwen/qwen3.8-27b.
  2. In OpenCode, pick IteraCompute as the provider (IteraCompute says it is built in) and enter your key, or add a custom provider in opencode.json with npm "@ai-sdk/openai-compatible", baseURL https://api.iteracompute.com/v1 and apiKey "{env:ITERACOMPUTE_API_KEY}".
  3. Select the model iteracompute/qwen/qwen3.8-27b and send a short test prompt.

Steps from the official guide, checked 2026-10-30.

Cline with IteraCompute

  1. In Cline settings, choose IteraCompute (built in) or "OpenAI Compatible" as the API provider.
  2. Base URL: https://api.iteracompute.com/v1, paste your key, Model ID: qwen/qwen3.8-27b.
  3. Under Model configuration, set Context Window Size 131072 and Max Output Tokens 8192 for the Free tier, then send a test prompt in Act mode.

Steps from the official guide, checked 2026-10-30.

OpenCode with Groq (Free tier)

  1. Create an API key at console.groq.com/keys.
  2. Start OpenCode in your project, run /connect, search for Groq and enter your key.
  3. Run /models and choose a Groq model, for example openai/gpt-oss-120b.

Steps from the official guide, checked 2026-10-30.

Cline with Groq (Free tier)

  1. Create an API key at console.groq.com/keys.
  2. Open Cline settings and pick "Groq" in the API Provider dropdown.
  3. Paste the key into "Groq API Key" and choose a model from the Model dropdown.

Steps from the official guide, checked 2026-10-30.

OpenCode with Ollama Cloud

  1. Install Ollama and sign in to your Ollama account when the app or CLI asks.
  2. Run: ollama launch opencode --model beam:cloud
  3. Send a short test prompt. It runs in Ollama's cloud, so nothing is downloaded.

Steps from the official guide, checked 2026-10-30.

Claude Code with Ollama Cloud

  1. Install Ollama and sign in to your Ollama account.
  2. Run: ollama launch claude --model beam:cloud
  3. Claude Code then uses Reflection Beam instead of Claude models. Send a short test prompt.

Steps from the official guide, checked 2026-10-30.

Any OpenAI-compatible tool with NVIDIA API catalog (build.nvidia.com)

  1. Sign in at build.nvidia.com and create an API key from a model page.
  2. In your coding tool, add an OpenAI-compatible provider with base URL https://integrate.api.nvidia.com/v1 and your key.
  3. Use a model ID from the model page, for example deepseek-ai/deepseek-v4.1-flash, and send a short test prompt.

Steps from the official guide, checked 2026-10-30.

How we check

We read each host's free page, limits, terms and privacy policy. We list a model only if the host's own page says it is free. Posts on social media are leads only. Rows are re-checked at least every 7 days, and ended offers are removed.

FAQ

Are these AI models really free?

Yes, within limits. IteraCompute gives 30M free tokens a month on Qwen3.8-27B. BeatAPI gives free -free model IDs at 1 request per minute before a top-up. OpenRouter's :free models allow 20 requests a minute and 50 a day. Groq has a Free tier with per-model limits. Each host can change or end its offer.

Is it safe to use a free third-party model host for coding?

Only for code you could make public. Your prompts and code pass through the host's servers, and policies differ: some promise no training, some say retention depends on upstream providers. Never send client code, passwords or API keys.

Which free host works with OpenCode or Cline?

IteraCompute and Groq both publish setup guides for OpenCode and Cline. OpenRouter lists Cline, Aider, Roo Code and Kilo Code on its integrations page. BeatAPI's OpenCode page covers its data tools, not its free models.

Who runs these hosts?

IteraCompute is IteraCompute Artificial Intelligence Technology (Chongqing) Co., Ltd. in China. OpenRouter, Inc. is in New York. Groq LLC is in Mountain View, California. BeatAPI doesn't state its legal entity or country in its terms.

Why isn't GitHub Models listed?

GitHub retired GitHub Models on July 30, 2026, according to its docs.

Does Quotadex earn money from these links?

No. We aren't affiliated with any host on this page and earn nothing from these links. They are marked nofollow.

How often is this list checked?

At least every 7 days. Each row shows its last check date. We remove offers that have ended.
